Why search by username
On Instagram itself you can only reach a profile by scrolling, searching inside the app or following a link, and all of those require an account. A username search skips every step: you already know who you want to see, so you type the handle and go straight to their public content.
It also works when you only have part of the information. If someone shared a profile link, you can paste the whole link and InstaSPY reads the username from it.
How to find the right username
The username is the handle after the @ sign, for example @natgeo. It is not the display name shown in bold on the profile, which can contain spaces and emojis. If you are unsure, look at the profile link: the part after instagram.com/ is the username.
Usernames are not case sensitive and cannot contain spaces. If a search returns nothing, check for dots and underscores, which are easy to miss.
What loads after the search
For public accounts you will see the profile picture, bio, active stories from the last 24 hours, and saved highlights. Highlights stay on the profile until the owner removes them, so they are a good place to look when no active story is up.
Private accounts only share stories with approved followers. InstaSPY shows that the account is private and does not try to access its content.
Search from any device
The username search runs in the browser, so it works the same on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac. Nothing is installed and you never enter an Instagram password.
If you check the same account often, create a free InstaSPY account and turn on story alerts so you are notified when it posts again.
